Junior Year Journey
They always say that Junior year is the hardest year and there not wrong. But you wouldn't focused on the time you should focused on what you get out of it. Junior year becomes easier as you learn to enjoy it more and chose to get more out of it. This year was exciting with all the different classes I took and all the projects that were involved this year. The most exciting thing that happened this year was learning that I got into a Certified Nursing Program to get my CNA licence next year.
I also competed in FBLA with my friends placing at FBLA state of Colorado. See Extra curricular activities.

Light the Way
Light the way was one of my favorite projects. This project was a chance to give back to our community. The goal for this project was to interview a kid, find their story, write them a vignette, and build them a lantern . We started off by coming up with interview question and translated them into Spanish, we also did background research on the school that we were going to, so we would have an idea what these kids lives looked like. When we went into the school it was amazing to see so many smiling faces of these kids, they were all so excited and nervous. I was paired up with a 13 year old girl named Kimberly, who just moved her from Mexico. The only word that she knew in English was soccer. The interview was hard because of the language barrier, but the story that I learned was amazing. After meeting the kids and hearing their stories we then went and wrote them a vignette and Spanish summary to share their story with the world. Around that vignette that we wrote we made borders, each unique to the child we had. We wanted to give these kids a gift so we build each one of them a lantern unique to there story. Each shape of the lantern was made to look like their favorite shape, and each was covered in tissue paper that was close to their favorite colors.

Get amped was one of our intensive projects. In this project we had a bunch of mini projects that we did, my favorite part of this project was the paper we wrote and the amp device that we made. This project was not under my strong suits but it was a lot of fun building something new and writing a paper on different cultures.

College Book 2019
Another one of my favorite projects was the college book that we made at the beginning of the year. I really loved making the college book because it gave me a chance to prepare for the future and learn about everything that I will need to accomplish. I loved looking at all the different colleges I could apply for and finding the ones that would be right for me. I am very grateful that we did this project because if we hadn't I wouldn't have been as prepared as I am now for college. It also guide me down the path or preparing now over later. On the front of my book I put the quote by Albert Einstein, "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep our balance, you must keep moving." I feel that this was a great reminder to put on the front because I know college will be hard and there will be ups and downs. But if I keep on moving and keep on striving to get the best out of it then I will and it will become easier because it will be more fun and more rewarding .
